I thought “Mother” would do well domestically, and I’m glad to see I was right about that. To me, it was a drama that delivered on a lot of fronts. It had flaws, but kept up the dramatic tension until the end, and featured a central romance and characters who I found (for the most part) compelling and worth watching for seven weeks.
One thing I was wrong about initially: that “Tale of the Nine-Tailed” didn’t deserve a sequel. I’ve come to very much regret those words, because this second part has been so much fun, full of comedic, action, bromantic goodness in every scene. The writers were smart to foreground the prickly but loving relationship between the brothers this time around, and mostly ignore conventional romantic pairings. It all worked for me, and I’ll happily embrace a third season should it ever arrive.
Finally, I like “Delightfully Deceitful” a lot, especially the three main performances and the way the story never really lags. So I’m glad to see it hold steady around 4%. It’s too weird, darkly shot (I mean this literally–it’s hard to see everything in many of the shots), and focused on a sociopath to be a huge hit, but I’d like to see it get up to 6%.
