Choa, formerly of AOA, is back after 3 years of hiatus and is taking a new path on her career. She announced her exclusive contract with her new agency Great M Entertainment on the 21st, signaling her return to the entertainment industry.

Choa said through her agency that day, “I sincerely thank the fans who waited for us without forgetting and will work with sincerity.”

Choa debuted with AOA in 2012 as the main vocalist and oldest member of the team. She received massive love from fans for her outstanding singing skills and charms in various entertainment shows. However, she withdrew in June 2017 due to health reasons. After undergoing hiatus, Choa did not update her fans.

In the midst of this, Choa first hinted at her return to KBS2 TV’s Monday-Tuesday drama “He Is Him.” The song, which was originally inserted into the drama without knowing who the singer was, made Choa feel the presence of her voice alone, and drew attention even before its release.

In particular, Choa’s return to the entertainment industry has become a hot topic, coupled with the AOA controversy. AOA recently became a hot topioc online as former member Kwon Mina revealed that she was bullied by the leader Jimin for nearly 10 years, and that she did several events of self-harm due to it. As a result, the public’s attention was directed to the recent status of all members of AOA.

Interest in Choa appeared on music charts. The song has been on the charts for a long time, entering the real-time charts of major music sites right after its release. Fans expressed their longing for the kpop star through comments on music sites, saying, “It was a voice I wanted to hear.”

The more anticipated part of Choa’s return is her new music. Although Choa’s charm has been fully shown in AOA’s dance music, she has played impressive voices in more diverse genres, such as AOA Band Unit or “Don’t Eat” with Freyaimori.

Great M Entertainment, where Choa newly nestled, is a newly established agency by CEO Kim Young-Sun, a founding member and managing director of her former agency FNC Entertainment. CEO Kim produced AOA, FT Island, CNBLUE, N.Flying, and SF9. Choa must also know Choa’s charm as a singer better than anyone else because she discovered and planned it herself.

Expectations are high that Choa, who will return to her career after three years of waiting, will finally speak to her fans.
