7. ASTRO

ASTRO ranked 7th place, with 556 points.
ASTRO debuted in 2016 under Fantagio Entertainment. They are a six-member boy group. The group consists of members: MJ, Cha Eunwoo, Moobin, JinJin, Rocky, and Sanha. Upon their debut, they were named as one of the best new K-pop groups of 2016. In 2018, the group went on a hiatus due to internal issues at their label, Fantagio.
6. DAY6

DAY6 ranked 6th place, with 563 points.
DAY6 debuted in 2015 under JYP Entertainment. Upon debut, the group was a success in the West, with their debut extended lay “The Day” peaking at number 2 on the Billboard’s World Albums Chart. The group was originally six members, but Lim Junhyeok ended up leaving the group in 2016 due to personal reasons. They are now five members: Jae, Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, and Dowoon. All of the members are involved in writing, composing, and producing the group’s music.
The group is known for their “Every Day6” project, which launched in 2017. The group released two songs every month, and by the end of their project, they released 25 songs of varying genres.
5. NCT 127

NCT 127 ranked 5th place, with 579 points.
NCT 127 is the second sub-unit under the NCT umbrella. They debuted in 2016 under SM Entertainment. The group has gone numerous promotional line-up changes, with the current line-up being: Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Mark, and Haechan. Winwin is currently inactive and is promoting with WayV.
NCT has released two full-length studio albums, two repackage released, and four extended plays. They achieved breakthrough success in 2017 with the song “Cherry Bomb”, and the track is recognized as one’s of the group’s signature tracks. Their success boomed worldwide in 2018 with the song “Regular. In 2019, they debuted in Japan.
4. ATEEZ

ATEEZ ranked 4th place, with 590 points.
ATEEZ is an eight-member boy group that debuted in 2018 under KQ Entertainment. The group was originally nine-members pre-debut but debuted as eight.
Prior to their debut, ATEEZ was introduced as KQ Fellaz, a pre-debut trainee group under the company, and they would post dance videos to the company’s official YouTube channel. To build up hype for their debut, the company launched “KQ Fellaz American Training,” a series that follows the boys as they train in America. KQ Fellaz can be seen as composing, choreographing, and practicing. They released a song called “From” that stemmed from the show. Following that series, KQ Entertainment announced their group name ATEEZ alongside a Mnet reality show for the boys called “Code Name is Ateez.”
3. LOONA

LOONA ranked 3rd place, with 596 points.
LOONA is a 12-member girl group under Blockberry Creative that debuted in 2018. The group consists of Heejin, Hyunjin, Haseul, Yeojin, Vivi, Kim Lip, JinSoul, Choerry, Yves, Chuu, Go Won, and Olivia Hye.
The group is known for their pre-debut project that launched on October 16. Blockberry Creative revealed each member with their own solo song over the next eighteen months, as well as debuted them in three sub-units. The three subunits are LOONA 1/3, LOONA Odd Eye Circle, and LOONA yyxy.
2. NCT

NCT ranked 2nd place, with 608 points.
NCT is an umbrella group that currently has four sub-units. The first sub-unit, NCT U, debuted in 2016. The group is known their unique concept of being a rotational group, with them having unlimited members that are divided into sub-units, in which some groups can have member shifts throughout comebacks and some can be permanent groups. As of now, the group has 21 members: Taeil, Taeyong, Jonghyun, Ten, Mark, Doyoung, Kun, Yuta, Winwin, Haechan, Johnny, Jungwoo, Lucas, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, Jisung, Hendery, Yangyang, and Xiaojun.
The current sub-units are NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV.
NCT has topped the Billboard’s Emerging Artists Chart, making them the first K-pop act to do so.

BTS ranked first place, with 662 points.
BTS is a seven-member boy group, comprising of member RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jin, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, under Big Hit Entertainment. They debuted in 2013. BTS is known for co-writing and producing most of their material and has been complemented by critics for actively taking part in the creative process of their music. They are also known for their lyrics, which speak on numerous topics such as personal and social commentary, growing up, adolescence, mental illness, and loving and accepting oneself. BTS is currently South Korea’s best-selling artist of all time.
BTS is known as the “Princes of Pop” by numerous media outlets. The group was also included in Time’s 100 most influential people in the world list in 2019.
