HyunA is currently experiencing her old health problem and chose to delay her comeback. Although fans’ expectations were high as it was her return to the music industry after a long time, they worry more about her present status and wish for her swift recovery.
HyunA announced the postponement with four days left until her comeback on Tuesday.
“Our artist Hyun-ah has temporarily postponed her new song release and activities due to health reasons,” said her agency, P Nation.
According to the agency, HyunA wrote the lyrics for her new song “GOOD GIRL,” and was preparing more enthusiastically than anyone else, starting with the release of her new single and ending her first full-length album within this year.
However, is has to be postponed because of her health condition. The agency explained, “Since HyunA first confessed to the public last year that she had depression and panic disorder and was diagnosed with an American neurological fainting, she has been continuously receiving treatment for a long time to show the best and best performance in the single release scheduled for next week and the regular album scheduled for the second half of the year.”
“However, despite the constant will and effort, there have been situations in which people have recently fainted again,” P-Nation added.
What is Vasovagal Syncope?
Mayo Clinic through its website, www.mayoclinic.org defines Vasovagal Syncope is when a person faints when a body overreacts to certain triggers like excessive emotional distress. With this, the patient experiences dropping of blood pressure and heart rate and leads to less blood flow into your brain therefore leading to unconsciousness. Although it does not require treatment, accidents due to sudden collapsing may occur. Thus, if series of episodes may occur, seeing a medical professional is necessary to rule out the cause of it.
Earlier in November last year, Hyun-ah confessed on her SNS that she had been diagnosed with depression, panic disorder and an American neurological disorder. At the time, Hyun-ah said, “At first, it looked foggy in front of me, and I fell down. “I was going to move on to see if it was one of the symptoms of panic disorder, but when the doctor said, I found out that there was a disease called American neurological fainting after testing brain waves and other things at a university hospital,” she confessed.
The agency decided to postpone Hyuna’s comeback and focus on treatment. The agency said, that it is their obligation to take care of their artist’s welfare and make sure that HyunA is stable before proceeding to her comeback.
The agency apologized for the delay in Hyun-ah’s comeback and said it would provide full support to help her regain stability and become healthy.
