What Lee Joon Gi And IU recently talked about “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and they’ve talked about the controversial ending scene of the drama.
On April 17, Lee Joon Gi celebrated his birthday by holding a special Naver NOW show called “DREAM.” During the show, IU called in and congratulated him with a surprise phone call. The actor was surprised and didn’t recognize her voice at first.
Lee Joon Gi and IU ended up reminiscing about “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” and talked about how they didn’t expect the drama to be this loved so many years later. They also talked about how much they’d love to starr in a second season.
“Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” ending was so sad and left a lot of fans frustrated. The ending scene shows IU looking at a photo of Lee Joon Gi’s character and it ended there.
However, it was also previously reported that the ending was supposed to be very different and was supposed to show Lee Joon Gi in modern day clothes handing a handkerchief to IU’s character.
Lee Joon Gi talked about “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” ending scene and praised IU’s acting, he said,
“Our actor Lee Ji Eun (IU) showed the most amazing emotional acting that day. I wondered how could someone cry like that. Even now, I cry when I see the emotional acting in that scene.
IU also added that they couldn’t show the scene where Wang So and Hae Soo meet in the present day, but said Lee Joon Gi’s visuals were amazing, she said,
“In the modern day scene, where you have short hair and was wearing a suit. Your visuals in that scene where you handed me a handkerchief—it was really a shame that it didn’t make it on TV. Your fans would have gone wild if that had aired.”
