The dynamic between Jung Hae-in and Jung So-min in Love Next Door has shifted dramatically.
tvN’s Sat-Sun drama Love Next Door (written by Shin Ha-eun, directed by Yoo Je-won) has released stills showcasing the evolving and tense relationship between Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in) and Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min) ahead of the 7th episode airing on the 6th. Their interactions, oscillating between ‘true friends’ and ‘something more,’ have heightened viewer interest.
In the previous episode, Bae Seok-ryu discovered Choi Seung-hyo’s long-held unspoken feelings. She unearthed a letter from a time capsule in Choi Seung-hyo’s room that revealed his past affection, which Choi Seung-hyo had previously dismissed as a school prank. Since then, Choi Seung-hyo began to distance himself from Bae Seok-ryu. Despite his efforts to avoid her, Bae Seok-ryu continued to appear, prompting Choi Seung-hyo to unleash his repressed emotions, exclaiming, “Back then and now, I feel like I’m going crazy because of you!”
The newly released photos depict a scene reminiscent of a romantic comic, with the two characters riding a bicycle under a canopy of cherry blossoms. Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu, shown in a tender embrace, exhibit unprecedented vulnerability and tension. However, the romantic atmosphere soon shifts to a cold and distant one, as the two share a strained moment after dismounting the bicycle. The visible resentment and disappointment in their expressions spark further curiosity.
In Episode 7, airing on the 7th, the drama will see additional turmoil with the arrival of Choi Seung-hyo’s ex-lover, Jang Tae-hee (Seo Ji-hye), and Bae Seok-ryu’s ex-fiancé, Song Hyun-joon (Han Jun-woo). Choi Seung-hyo, who is confident in his feelings for Bae Seok-ryu, becomes uncomfortable with Jang Tae-hee’s presence and attempts to manage the situation. Despite this, Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu continue to struggle with their true feelings, leading to ongoing conflict and misunderstandings.
The production team of Love Next Door teased, “As Bae Seok-ryu confronts Choi Seung-hyo’s genuine emotions, their long-standing friendship will start to shift. Watch to see the choices and decisions Bae Seok-ryu makes,” and “With the appearance of Song Hyun-joon, who Bae Seok-ryu has declared ‘I still love you,’ a complex romantic plot will unfold,” raising viewer anticipation.
