Jung Yong-hwa and Cha Tae-hyun put their Brain Works together
by tccolb
With the premiere now just a week away, a new teaser has come out for KBS’s Brain Works (previously Brain Cooperation) featuring our lead brain duo: Jung Yong-hwa (Sell Your Haunted House) and Cha Tae-hyun (Police University).
Bickering their way to solve the case of the day, the comedy has our resident ~genius~ and neuroscientist Shin Ha-ru (Jung Yong-hwa) forming a team with our soft-hearted detective Geum Myung-se (Cha Tae-hyun).
Although not featured in the latest teaser, our two heroes will also be needing the help of the mousy investigator Kwak Sun-young (Behind Every Star) as well as Myung-se’s sensual ex-wife Yeh Ji-won (Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol).

The new video teaser begins by introducing Ha-ru as we hear Myung-se call him an expert on psychos. Myung-se isn’t intimidated, though, stereotyping Ha-ru to be “just a nerd,” even if he comes across as eccentric. This, of course, riles Ha-ru up and he postures right back, asking Myung-se, “You think you can handle me?”
When Myung-se runs into a misunderstanding, though, a scared Ha-ru pretends he’s sleeping, leaving Myung-se alone to deal with the angry crowd. An upset Myung-se declares afterwards that he will not collaborate with Ha-ru. But Ha-ru proves his brain’s worth when he provides evidence that the suspect is innocent and our two heroes bump fists to their new partnership together.
As the police team continue their investigations, Ha-ru shares his suspicions that something out of the ordinary has happened while Myung-se reasons that it’s not enough to justify murder. The teaser then comes to a close as Ha-ru races to help Myung-se, declaring in voiceover, “Let’s go catch the culprit!”
With scripts by Park Kyung-sun along with PD Lee Jin-seo (Revolutionary Sisters) and PD Gu Sung-joon co-directing, KBS’s Brain Works premieres next week on January 2.
