Kim Dong-wook and Jin Ki-joo travel to the past in You, Whom I Met By Chance

Kim Dong-wook and Jin Ki-joo travel to the past in You, Whom I Met By Chance

The promo train has begun for KBS’s new fantasy You, Whom I Met By Chance with photos from the first script reading as well as character stills of leads: Kim Dong-wook (King of Pigs) and Jin Ki-joo (Showtime Begins).

Our hero Yoon Hae-joon (Kim Dong-wook) is a reporter and news anchor who is trying to find the truth behind a serial murder case that happened in the past. This compels him to take a trip in time, back to 1987, and he’s curiously joined by publishing company employee Baek Yoon-young (Jin Ki-joo).

The details have not yet been revealed, but Yoon-young’s intention is to stop her parents from getting married and our two protagonists discover that there’s a connection between their two goals. The problem, of course, is that they become stuck in 1987 and what unfolds afterwards becomes a strange yet beautiful experience for our OTP.

In supportive roles, Seo Ji-hye (Love All Play) and Lee Won-jung (Extraordinary Attorney Woo) play the younger 1987 versions of Soon-ae and Hee-seop respectively – presumably, Yoon-young’s parents. Their older counterparts in the present are played by Lee Ji-hyun (Love All Play) and Lee Kyu-hwae (Wild Boar Hunting).

The supporting cast also includes Kim Jong-soo (Snowdrop), Kim Hye-eun (May It Please the Court), Kim Jung-young (Anna), and Jung Shin-hye (Cheer Up) among others.

Production is being led by writer Baek So-yeon (Tale of Nokdu) along with PD Kang Soo-yeon (Tale of Nokdu, Ghost Detective) and PD Lee Woong-hee. KBS drama You, Whom I Met By Chance is slated to broadcast January 2023, in the Wednesday-Thursday slot.
