Disney+ Unveils Star-Studded Cast for Original Series ‘Knockoff’
The highly anticipated Disney+ original series Knockoff, set to premiere in 2025, has unveiled its impressive cast. The series explores the dramatic transformation of an ordinary office worker whose life is upended by the IMF, propelling him from a typical job to becoming the ruler of the global counterfeit market.
Kim Soo-hyun will star as Kim Sung-joon, the formidable king of the counterfeit world, while Jo Bo-ah plays Song Hye-jeong, a dedicated special judicial police officer tasked with cracking down on counterfeit goods. The supporting cast promises to add depth and richness to the storyline:
- Yoo Jae-myung portrays Kim Sung-joon’s father, Kim Man-sik, who introduces him to the counterfeit world. His role will highlight the complex father-son relationship with Kim Soo-hyun.
- Lee Jung-eun, making a special appearance, plays Park Ae-ja, a retired civil servant and Kim Sung-joon’s mother, who has dedicated her life to her family.
- Kim Eui-seong is cast as Bae Pil-goo, the influential figure who dominates the Busan counterfeit market and is Bae Nu-ri’s uncle.
- Bang Hyo-rin, a rising star known for her role in All Hail Hell, will take on the role of Bae Nu-ri, the young president of Sammul Market, a key hub for counterfeit goods. Her portrayal will showcase a complex character who is both innocent and ruthless.
In addition, the series features:
- Kwon Na-ra as Moon Yoo-bin, a designer specializing in S-class counterfeit bags.
- Park Se-wan as Moon Da-bin, Moon Yoo-bin’s younger sister and collaborator in the counterfeit business.
- Kim Hye-eun as Jang Ji-soo, Bae Nu-ri’s lawyer and strategist.
- Go Gyu-pil as Donkas, Bae Nu-ri’s loyal right-hand man and action captain of Sammul Market.
Special appearances include:
- Kim Moo-yeol as Baek Jong-min, the head of the counterfeit goods crackdown team and a prosecutor at the Central District Prosecutors’ Office.
- Jung Man-sik as Detective Lee Ki-bong, also part of the counterfeit goods crackdown team.
- Kang Mal-geum as Jegal Hyeon-sook, an investigator on the crackdown team.
Knockoff is directed by Park Hyun-seok of Secret Forest 2 and written by Han Jeong-hoon of the Bad Guys series. Fans can look forward to its release on Disney+ in 2025.
