Grandmas are awesome. Korean grandmas, however, are in a league of their own and totally something you have to experience. No amount of explaining can truly summarize the magic of Korean grandmas.
Thanks to YouTube channel ReacThings, we get to see her Korean grandma react to what things are like during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and she keeps it really real.
When asked what she would buy to prepare herself for staying home, grandma said that she would buy rice and toilet paper, as well as water.
They settle in to watch the videos of people fighting for toilet paper around the world…
… Which grandma keenly observes that the scenario unfolding before her poor eyes is a “fiasco“.
Are they gonna eat that toilet paper or something?
— Grandma
As they moved on to watch people fight over toilet paper in Hong Kong, grandma wondered why people were hoarding so much toilet paper — after all, it’s not something you’ll die without, right?
While watching two women physically fight over toilet paper in Australia, grandma appears physically horrified as she utters, “Just give up, it’s only toilet paper.”
Grandma was truly appalled by the sights her eyes could not unsee.
This is so wrong.
— Grandma
She was genuinely concerned for the safety of others and couldn’t wrap her mind around why people were so out of control.
Grandma’s reactions were relatable and on-point. While we’ve all gotten so accustomed to the luxury of toilet paper, we forget the more important thing — being kind to one another in difficult times.
Watch the whole video below and be sure to take Korean grandma’s advice: “We need to be more generous and understanding.” She also offers up comforting words at the end, so if you need to be uplifted during this time it is a much-watch video.
