Love Next Door kdrama – Episode 11 Recap and Spoilers.
In the 11th episode of the tvN weekend drama ‘Love Next Door’, Bae Seok-ryu (Jung So-min) realized her feelings for Choi Seung-hyo (Jung Hae-in) belatedly after his confession. After the deadline for promising an answer to his confession passed and she felt the empty space left by Choi Seung-hyo, Bae Seok-ryu went to tell him what she had realized. The romantic kiss between Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu, who are beginning their first love after ending their long friendship, foreshadowed a full-fledged two-way romance.
After sending Song Hyun-joon (Han Jun-woo) off to the United States, Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu’s expiration date reached D-day. Bae Seok-ryu knew that Choi Seung-hyo would wait for an answer, but he couldn’t bring himself to speak first. He had already rejected her once without thinking, and he was worried that she would misunderstand the tears he shed when breaking up with Song Hyun-joon. As expected, his prediction was right. Choi Seung-hyo said, “I don’t want to make things even more complicated for her,” and that he didn’t want to burden her, and he couldn’t force her to answer. As the two of them hesitated to contact each other, looking at the expiration date on the milk, time passed past midnight.
Meanwhile, Seo Hye-sook (Jang Young-nam) and Choi Kyung-jong (Lee Seung-joon) decided to get a divorce. Choi Seung-hyo pretended to be okay after hearing that, but in fact, he wasn’t okay at all. The words Seo Hye-sook blurted out when her parents were fighting as a child, “I shouldn’t have given birth to Seung-hyo,” were still vivid, and it was also revealed that the rift in the family had deepened over time. Choi Seung-hyo, drunk from frustration, confessed his honest feelings to Bae Seok-ryu, saying, “I know that both mom and dad have their own lives, but I still want to be happy together.”
Seo Hye-sook hid the fact that she had been advised to retire and said goodbye to her family and friends, saying that she was leaving for a new post. However, not long after she left, an unclaimed suitcase was found at the terminal. Choi Seung-hyo, Bae Seok-ryu, and Choi Kyung-jong gathered at the police station after receiving the call, unlocked the suitcase’s password, and called Seo Hye-sook’s classmate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kwak Se-hwan (Cho Seung-yeon). Kwak Se-hwan told her that Seo Hye-sook had decided to retire, and that he had recently forgotten about the incident.
Choi Kyung-jong set out to find Seo Hye-sook. In the last phone call with Kwak Se-hwan, he said he was going to the mountain, so he asked around the Lavender members and headed to a temple in a certain region. There was a trace of Seo Hye-sook on the tile with the words, “Please don’t forget my husband and son.” Choi Seung-hyo, Bae Seok-ryu, and Choi Kyung-jong found one of Seo Hye-sook’s shoes while coming down the darkened hiking trail. Choi Kyung-jong ran to Seo Hye-sook, who had collapsed at the bottom of the slope, and Choi Seung-hyo and Bae Seok-ryu also found the two. Choi Kyung-jong and Choi Seung-hyo were relieved that Seo Hye-sook was safe and confessed their true feelings that they had not been able to express until now. The belated forgiveness and reconciliation between the three people was deeply moving.
At the end of the broadcast, Choi Seung-hyo left on a two-week business trip, and Bae Seok-ryu was left alone in Hyeryeong-dong. Bae Seok-ryu realized that another sentence was recorded in the voice file that Choi Seung-hyo had recorded, not from the cookbook. When he translated the incomprehensible French, it said, “That milk has an expiration date of today.” However, it was Choi Seung-hyo’s confession that “I don’t think my heart will be hurt tomorrow or the day after.” Only then did Bae Seok-ryu realize his feelings. He ran a long way to meet Choi Seung-hyo and told him, “Time doesn’t pass without you.” Instead of answering, Choi Seung-hyo kissed Bae Seok-ryu.
The aftermath of the kiss between Jeong Mo-eum (Kim Ji-eun) and Kang Dan-ho (Yoon Ji-on) that day also drew attention. Jeong Mo-eum admitted that it was something she did because of momentary emotions, but she was busy avoiding Kang Dan-ho and Kang Yeon-doo (Shim Ji-yoo). In the meantime, Jeong Mo-eum’s mother Do Jae-sook (Kim Geum-soon) decided to look after Kang Yeon-doo in place of the busy Kang Dan-ho, and the two unexpectedly met again. Jeong Mo-eum broke the awkward silence by saying to Kang Dan-ho, “I’m sorry about what happened last time!” and, “I’m more at fault, but how about we just settle for a mutual mistake?”, dismissing the kiss that day, which was like an ‘accident’, as a mistake. The story between the two of them also aroused curiosity about whether Jeong Mo-eum would be able to suppress her feelings for Kang Dan-ho and how Kang Dan-ho feels about Jeong Mo-eum.
