It has been reported that “Nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk as well as popular actress, Yoo In Na had donated generously for the flood victims. South Korea is currently undergoing struggles due to a natural disaster, as heavy rainfalls had lead to floods of tens of cm high, leading to a few deaths even. Not only are the lives of the citizens in danger, but many livelihoods have been destroyed, including farms.
Yoo Jae Suk has been said to have donated ₩1 billion KRW ($837,563 USD) to the cause, through the emergency relief fund by Hope Bridge. Yoo Jae Suk has always been praised for his upright character and kindness, having quietly and consistently been donating.
In 2006, he previously donated $100,000 USD to charity, marking the start of his donations. More recently, in 20114, he had donated to the Sewol Ferry tragedy, in 2016 to the Daegu Seomoon Market fire, in 2017 for the Pohang earthquakes and in 2019 for the Kangwon-do forest fires. He has also donated ₩1 billion KRW ($837,563 USD) to coronavirus relief funds this year.
Actress Yoo In Na recently made a donation of half a million KRW ($418,781 USD) to the heavy rain and flood victims through Hope Bridge as well. She has previously consistently been helping the less developed nations by sponsoring children’s meals, such as in Africa.
Both may have earned lots in their careers as celebrities, however, it is always difficult to part with money, no matter how rich one is. Yoo Jae Suk and Yoo In Na both deserve praise for their selfless acts of charity.
