Perfect Family kdrama – Episode 11 Recap and Spoilers.
In Episode 11 of KBS2’s Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Perfect Family’ which aired on the night of the 18th, the tangled past of Choi Jin-hyuk (Kim Byung-chul) and Choi Hyun-min (Yoon Sang-hyun) comes to light, revealing the roots of their troubled relationship.
In his past, Choi Hyun-min, driven by a gambling addiction, decided to kidnap Choi Jin-hyuk’s son, Choi Sang-ho (Park Sang-hoon), to demand ransom. He lured Sang-ho to his office under the pretense of needing help with young Sun-hee, then drugged the two children with sleeping pills.
Hyun-min attempted to negotiate with Choi Jin-hyuk afterward but was apprehended by Jin-hyuk and the police, who had received a tip-off. Although the police thoroughly searched the building, they couldn’t locate the hidden room, ultimately taking only Choi Hyun-min to the station.
At the police station, Hyun-min smiled at Choi Jin-hyuk. When Jin-hyuk asked, “What did you do?”, Hyun-min replied, “Please save me. If I live, Sang-ho will live too.”
Meanwhile, Choi Sang-ho regained consciousness in a dark room. Disoriented, he searched for a light switch and found one, but it sparked from an old wire, igniting a fire. By the time he realized the danger, it was too late. He managed to send Seon-hee through a narrow window to safety but was unable to escape himself, succumbing to the flames.
Ha Eun-joo (Yoon Se-ah), devastated by the loss of her son, spent days in mourning. When she finally came to her senses, her first question to Choi Jin-hyuk was, “What happened to that child?” Despite Seon-hee being linked to her son’s death, she recognized that Seon-hee was innocent and had been saved by Sang-ho. Embracing Seon-hee as her own, she vowed, “I will never let you suffer.”
Fast forward to the present, Lee Soo-yeon (Choi Ye-bin) and Sun-hee (Park Joo-hyun) have been safely rescued, and Choi Jin-hyuk managed to escape major harm after falling into the sea. However, Choi Hyun-min remains missing, leaving everyone concerned.
Back home, Sun-hee tidied the kitchen and began cooking, preparing a birthday meal in memory of Sang-ho. She set a cake on the table with “Happy Birthday, Sang-ho” written on it. When Choi Jin-hyuk and Ha Eun-joo returned, she explained, “I wanted to celebrate Sang-ho’s birthday. I’m sorry.” She shared her feelings, noting how sometimes their gazes seemed empty and sad, and asked, “Why do you look so lonely?” Choi Jin-hyuk responded, “We hid that to protect you. We wanted to shield you from the pain.”
Ha Eun-joo hugged Sun-hee, saying, “We are connected through Sang-ho. He would have loved this.”
Sun-hee then served them seaweed soup, but there was a twist: she had secretly added sleeping pills to it. This was part of Choi Hyun-min’s plan. As Choi Jin-hyuk and Ha Eun-joo began to lose consciousness, Hyun-min appeared, tauntingly asking, “Did you use the medicine that Dad gave you well?”
