These Idols Opened Up About Disliking Their Own Music

Although K-pop idols get a say and are allowed to contribute to some of their songs’ writing and production, they can’t always choose the final tracks they perform and release. That’s why some idol group members had been pretty vocal about how they don’t like or hate a particular song in their albums.

BLACKPINK

BLINKs know for a fact that all BLACKPINK members dislike “As If It’s Your Last.” The group once shared that they got tired of it, especially since it took a while before they had a new comeback.

Red Velvet’s Irene

Irene had always been open about how she disliked “Rookie.” She said that she finds the song childish and petty. She later clarified that it might be because she’s already 30.

Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon

The Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon openly shared how she didn’t like “Kissing You” because of it’s concept. It was too cute for her that she almost decided to leave the group!

GOT7’s Youngjae did not just hate a track; he disliked one full-album of the group. During the GOT7’s interview for their “Call My Name” album, Youngjae said, “It’s true that ‘You Calling My Name’ is a great song, but all the other songs included in the album were just so-so.”

F.T. ISLAND’s Hongki

Hongki shared that he dislikes the group’s “I Wish” track. He didn’t elaborate on why he hated it, but fans think it may be due to the track’s genre.

VIXX

VIXX one shared during an interview that they didn’t like “Super Hero.” Fans speculated that it might be because of the bubbly nature of the song. VIXX are famous for their dark and profound concepts. At one interview, the group even said that they consider “On and On” as their debut song.

Although Yuta didn’t vocally say that he disliked “Fire Truck,” fans believe that he hated the song. During one of their interviews for their song “Limitless,” Yuta expressed how he likes that the song is good this time. This can only mean that the previous track wasn’t!

The group B.A.P filed a lawsuit against their company because they were uncomfortable with all the body-rolling they wanted them to do for “Body & Soul.” That’s why the choreography was changed.
