Perfect Family kdrama – Episode 10 Recap and Spoilers.

On the September 12 episode of KBS 2TV’s Perfect Family, intense emotional moments were highlighted through the characters of Choi Hyun-min (played by Yoon Sang-hyun) and Choi Jin-hyeok (played by Kim Byung-chul).

The episode unfolded with Choi Hyun-min endangering his daughter Seon-hee in a troubling attempt to secure money. During a family outing on an island, Choi Hyun-min, while holding Seon-hee, approached a cliff with a disconcerting plan. Despite his attempt to comfort her, his hesitation was evident as he raised his arms, struggling with his inner conflict. His plan was interrupted when Choi Jin-hyeok’s son called Seon-hee away, causing Choi Hyun-min to reflect deeply on his actions. In a moment of vulnerability, he shared with Choi Jin-hyeok, “I lived desperately. I thought about what I was living for every day.” Choi Jin-hyeok, recognizing the similarity to his own struggles, responded with a bitter smile, saying, “You are very similar to someone I know.”

Simultaneously, Choi Jin-hyeok’s backstory was explored, revealing his own profound pain. He recounted to Ha Eun-joo (Yoon Se-ah) a traumatic childhood experience involving his younger brother Tae-hyun, who struggled with school and ended up frequenting the police station. Choi Jin-hyeok’s mother, who had stopped believing in Tae-hyun, left him feeling helpless. He admitted, “I knew Tae-hyun was being bullied and fought desperately, but I pretended not to know.” The revelation culminated in a devastating moment when Choi Jin-hyeok tearfully shared how he received a call about Tae-hyun’s death after a school fight, feeling as though he had somehow caused his brother’s demise. Overcome with remorse, he expressed, “I’m so sorry. I should have trusted you. I’ve lived my life thinking that way. But even now, I can’t trust people. I was a much worse person than I realized.”

Ha Eun-joo, moved by his confession, reassured him, “That’s not true. I trust you. You can overcome anything,” and embraced him, offering comfort and support.
