Joo-won balances work and crime-fighting in new teaser

Being a vigilante can take a huge toll on your body. Just ask our civil-servant-by-day-art-thief-by-night and his battle with his lack of sleep. In the second teaser for tvN’s upcoming Stealer: The Treasure Keeper, we see Joo-won (Alice) struggle to balance his day job as Hwang Dae-myung with all his clandestine night outings as the moniker Skunk.
He might be a complete slacker at his cover job at the cultural heritage department, much to the annoyance to his determined coworker police officer Choi Min-woo — played by Lee Joo-woo (Why Her?) — but he’s fully committed to righting the wrongs of the art world. He’ll steal art acquired by sketchy means and send it to the Jang Tae-in — played by Jo Han-chul (Big Bet) — the head of the secret government art recovery team Karma. Intrigued by this mysterious ally, Tae-in seeks to figure out Skunk’s identity and possibly bring him in as a team member.
And of course, because no heist is complete without a behind the desk crew, the rest of the Karma team consists of Kim Jae-won (Our Blues) playing the team maknae Shin Chang-hoon, and Choi Hwa-jung (Jealousy Incarnate) as the elite hacker Lee Choon-ja.

The teaser opens on Dae-myung sleeping on the job, getting his ear talked off by Min-woo, and generally being unbothered by any responsibility. This is a marked contrast to the following shots of him breaking into buildings and beating up thugs while in the voiceover, we hear an incredulous Min-woo ask Tae-in, “Where did you get all of these art pieces?” “Skunk stole them and sent them to me.”
Skunk’s a thief that steals from thieves, the title cards tell us. And if the gun Tae-in points at him is any indication, Karma is very interested in knowing his identity. However, it looks like the secrecy won’t last long, since the teaser ends with Dae-myung leveling a cool look and admitting to someone, “It’s me. I’m Skunk.”
Written by Shin Kyung-il and directed by Choi Joon-bae (Mouse), Stealer: The Treasure Keeper will premiere on tvN on April 12.
