Count on Lee Seung-gi to participate in a worthy cause.
He posts a photo on May 1 with his right hand doing the thumbs up sign while an open left hand supports its weight. This is the Thanks To Challenge launched by the Korean Government on April 21.
The challenge aims to encourage its citizens to thank the frontliners and show them respect in their social media accounts. They must use the hashtags #덕분에챌린지 (Thanks To Challenge) and #의료진덕분에 (Thank you to the medical staff).
Thank you, frontliners
In his post, Lee acknowledged the CEO of KB Financial Group Yoon Jong-kyoo as the person who tagged him to join in the challenge. Lee said that he is grateful for the opportunity to do something meaningful. The triple threat entertainer is a long-time endorser for the bank.
“Korea and the world are struggling with coronavirus,” he said. “The Republic of Korea is setting a good example of how to prevent the spread of the disease. At the heart of it, I think it was made possible because of the hard work and dedication of the best medical staff in Korea. Thank you and always stay strong.”
He also added that he wishes that the difficult period passes and the peaceful days return. In February, the actor donated 100-million won or roughly P4M to the Non Profit Organization Good Neighbors for the protection of the children from the disease.
