More than half of MAMAMOO members have tattoos, with Wheein, Hwasa and Moonbyul all in favor of getting inked.
The group’s leader Solar, on the other hand, doesn’t have any permanent tattoos on her body as of this writing.
Most of the time, people have their bodies inked with special symbols that have deep meanings in their lives — Moonbyul’s reason isn’t different. She currently has four tattoos found all over her body, with each tattoo symbolizing a significant meaning.
Here’s what each tattoo means:
Tattoo #1: N’oublie pas de t’aimer
This tattoo can be found on Moonbyul’s left arm.
It’s a French phrase that means: “Don’t forget to love yourself”. In the past, Moonbyul has admitted to feeling insecure about her own talents and about her struggles to fit in with the group, so this phrase encourages her to think more positively about herself.
With the help of her members, Moonbyul has now blossomed into being a powerful performer who is confident in herself and in the whole group.
Tattoo #2: Family Portrait
In her second tattoo found on her right arm, Moonbyul makes it known that her family is a special part of her life.
Here’s a closer look at her family’s portrait, as tattooed on her own body.
There’s also a statement below the portrait which reads “Cor meum_행복”. This stands for “My heart_happiness” which means Moonbyul truly believes that her family is one of her sources for happiness.
Tattoo #3: Girl lying upside down
In this next tattoo, it’s inked on her ankle. You can see the outline of a girl who appears to be lying down.
This is what Moonbyul does every time she’s worried: she would simply like to stay in the present moment, maybe relax and lie down, and then empty her mind.
Tattoo #4: Timeline of important events in her life
Moonbyul posted her most recent tattoo to her Instagram account, with the caption:

MAMAMOO debuted on June 19, 2014 with the single “Mr. Ambiguous”. She considers MooMoos as her “loved ones” so this is a special day for Moonbyul.
