Suzy and Yang Se-jong find love and angst in Doona

New promos have dropped for Netflix’s upcoming romance Doona!, continuing the will-they-won’t-they tease between our main pair, Suzy (Anna) and Yang Se-jong (My Country) in a new poster (my oh my) and video teaser.
Based on a popular webtoon by the same title, our title’s heroine Lee Doona (Suzy) sets off on a new journey by suddenly retiring from the glitzy K-idol life and going back to college, to study theatre and film. After moving into a nearby sharehouse, Doona soon befriends fellow student and housemate Lee Won-joon (Yang Se-jong). But as we’re shown in the new teaser, it doesn’t take long for the lines of friendship to become blurred.

Taking him up on his offer to eat together, Doona shows up to whisk Won-joon away from class and we watch as their relationship blossoms over each new impulsive outing in the sequence. Charmed by her whims, Won-joon is honest about his fluttering feelings. Be he also feels hurt thinking he’s alone in wanting to be more than friends.
As the audience, we can of course see that Doona is not uninterested in Won-joon as she continues to seek him out. But there seems to be something causing her to feel torn and her behavior towards him doesn’t yet add up. The teaser also leaves us with some unanswered questions about Doona’s past as an idol (please, please don’t be anything sinister) and we close on her plea for Won-joon to not hate her.
