She surprised fans right after its release with news that it was actually a “secret double album.” Instead of the announced 16 songs, she released 31 new tracks in total.

The Tortured Poets Department is a secret DOUBLE album…here’s the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 extra songs.

This sparked a new discussion among K-Pop fans, particularly BLINKs, who were shocked at the large number of songs that went live all at once. It highlighted just how limited BLACKPINK‘s discography is.

They noted that with this single album alone, “Taylor Swift just released BLACKPINK’s entire discography.”

The American pop star has always released several songs per album while BLACKPINK is known for having only a handful of new songs each comeback. Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has given fans a total of 32 songs, just one more than The Tortured Poet’s Department‘s track list.

Taylor Swift’s new album is the equivalent of 99% of BLACKPINK’s entire discography.

BLACKPINK has released two full albums throughout their career: The Album (2020) with eight songs and BORN PINK (2022) with the same number of tracks. Their mini albums include Square Up (2018) with four songs and Kill This Love (2019) with five songs. They released the promotional song “The Girls” in August 2023. Each member has their own solo song as well.
