Plastic surgery is pretty common in the K-Pop industry, with some procedures on idols much more obvious than others. While it’s completely up to the individual whether or not they want to get plastic surgery done, sometimes fans think they may take it a little too far and end up looking too different than they used to, or even botched. Here are 4 K-Pop idols who have had pretty obvious plastic surgeries that many people think went too far.
1. Jion (N.Tic)
Jion has had perhaps the most obvious and drastic plastic surgery of any K-Pop idol. While he looked like an average handsome man during his pre-debut days, he ended up undergoing surgery that changed his looks completely, and many people think he looks unnatural now.
When he debuted with N.Tic in 2018, people were quick to point out that he looks like an animated character rather than a real person. Sadly, this gave the idol a fair amount of hate, which is made even worse by the fact that it may have been his label, JJ Entertainment, rather than Jion himself who decided on the surgery.
Fortunately, though, Jion does still have fans that love and support him no matter what, which is what any hard-working idol deserves!
2. Yuta (NCT)
Yuta is still known for his handsome visuals for obvious reasons, but some netizens have made comments on his rather drastic jaw transformation that they believe was unncessary.
Though he debuted with a more natural look and already handsome visuals, the NCT member was quickly seen making changes to his face, most notably when he appeared with a very obvious chin implant. Some fans think that the plastic surgery went too far and gave him a too long and sharp jawline.
Once again, fans are concerned that it was Yuta’s label SM Entertainment that made him get this unnecessary surgery, and even had him promote before the swelling had gone down from his procedures. Still, despite all of this, Yuta is still praised for his good looks, and we can only hope that he is happy with the results as well!
3. Jimin (former AOA)
Jimin’s plastic surgery rumors go back to 2016, when pre-debut pictures of her were compared to her current visuals at the time. Most notably, fans were quick to point out that she’d gone from having a u-shaped jawline to a v-shaped jawline.
Since then, Jimin has been the center of many different plastic surgery rumors due to her varying appearances at different times. From the shape of her eyelids to the shape of her face, the former AOA member has faced a lot of scrutiny and rumors over what kind of work she has had done.
Others think that perhaps she’s only had fillers and Botox done, or that changing weight may have had an impact on how she looks. Whatever the case, it’s hard to deny that she has had some fairly dramatic changes to her visuals over the years!
4. Park Bom
Park Bom is perhaps the most-discussed K-Pop idol when it comes to talking about excessive plastic surgery. Early on in her career with 2NE1, Bom was praised for her more natural visuals. However, fans worry that the promotion of the girl group by YG Entertainment as an “ugly girl group” may have led to the idol getting dramatic work done.
She has allegedly had a number of different plastic surgeries done over the years, including at least two nose jobs, work done on her eyes, facial reconstruction, and a number of other procedures both on her face and elsewhere. In fact, some netizens apparently wonder less about whether or not Bom has had plastic surgery, and more about when she’ll stop.
Fortunately, though, Park Bom seems to be happy with her appearance as far as we can tell, and hasn’t hesitated to clap back at haters who have commented negatively on her visuals. And that’s what she should do, especially if she really does love how she looks!
