LG U+ confirmed casting for the new mystery thriller No Way Out (previously Public Assassin), lining up Lee Seon-kyun (Payback), Yoo Jae-myung (Juvenile Justice), Kim Mu-yeol (Trolley), and Lee Kwang-soo (The Killer’s Shopping List). With filmmaker Choi Gook-hee (Life is Beautiful) at the helm and writing by Lee Soo-jin (The Devil’s Deal), filming is being planned to commence this October. [News1]
Also starting filming soon is TVING’s webtoon adaptation Study Group, now that Hwang Min-hyun (My Lovely Liar) has signed on for the leading role. The coming-of-age action story will be taking him back to high school, with directing by filmmaker Lee Jang-hoon (Miracle) and scripts penned by Eom Sun-ho. [Newsen]
The second teaser has dropped for ENA’s upcoming Day of Kidnapping, with our well-meaning kidnapper Yoon Kye-sang (Kiss Sixth Sense) putting his blood, sweat, and tears into child care for Yoo-na (Green Mothers’ Club). Lee Soo-hyuk (Tomorrow) has reportedly been cast in a leading role (!!!) for a new series called S Line. The story is based on a popular webtoon by the famous cartoonist Ggomabi, who also wrote/illustrated the original webtoon behind Netflix’s upcoming Murder DIEary. Speaking of webtoon adaptations, Kim Byung-chul (Doctor Cha) and Yoon Se-ah (Snowdrop) will be playing husband and wife again in the new thriller Perfect Family.
