Jang Dong-yoon, Park Bo-young, Lee Jung-eun, Yeon Woo-jin

  • Netflix announced the main cast for Daily Dose of Sunshine, which stars Park Bo-young (Doom at Your Service), Yeon Woo-jin (Thirty-Nine), Jang Dong-yoon (Search), and Lee Jung-eun (Our Blues). The story is adapted from the popular webtoon Morning Comes to Psychiatric Wards Too (roughly translated), which itself draws upon the real-life experiences of a psychiatric unit nurse. Filming has now commenced with PD Lee Jae-kyu (All of Us Are Dead) at the helm. [News1]
  • Netflix has been busy preparing for The Glory as well and the final lineup includes: Song Hye-gyo (Now We Are Breaking Up), Lee Do-hyun (Melancholia), Im Ji-yeon (Rose Mansion), Yeom Hye-ran (The Uncanny Counter), Park Sung-hoon (Memorials), and Jung Sung-il (Our Blues). The revenge drama is writer Kim Eun-sook’s (The King: Eternal Monarch, Mr. Sunshine) newest project with PD Ahn Gil-ho (Happiness) as the talent behind the camera. [Sports Donga]


Song Hye-gyo, Lee Do-hyun, Im Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon, Jung Sung-il

  • Reports have Kwak Sun-young (Inspector Koo) joining Cha Tae-hyun (Police University) and Jung Yong-hwa (Sell Your Haunted House) in KBS’s Brain Collaboration (roughly translated). With filming set to begin this coming August, the drama is aiming for an early 2023 premiere with PD Lee Jin-seo attached to direct and writing by Park Kyung-sun. [Sports Donga]
  • I was wondering when we would start seeing some references to the show’s title, and we finally see it in Won Jin-ah’s (Hellbound) character poster for Unicorn — along with some sparkles and rainbows, of course. Coupang Play’s office sitcom stars stars Shin Ha-kyun (Beyond Evil), and is directed by PD Kim Hye-young (Be Melodramatic) with In Ji-hye (Extraordinary You) and comedian Yoo Byung-jae co-writing. The drama premieres in August. [KBS]

  • Seezn has lined up a thriller called Paper Moon, which is based on the Japanese novel by the same name (“Kami no Tsuki”) by Mitsuyo Kakuta. With a well-received movie and drama version already made in Japan, it’ll be interesting to see how the Korean remake plays out. Casting is confirmed for Kim Seo-hyung (Mine), Seo Young-hee (Would You Like a Cup of Coffee), Yoo Sun (Eve), Lee Chun-hee (Law School), and Gong Jung-hwan (Halo, Rookie Historian Gu Hae-ryung) among others. Filming begins this month with Kim Seung-woo directing and Noh Yoon-su penning the scripts. [MBC]
  • Over on tvN, plans are underway for the fantasy romance High Priest Rembrary, which stars Kim Min-kyu (Business Proposal), Go Bo-kyul (Hi Bye, Mama!), Lee Jang-woo (Oh! Samkwang Villa), and Yeh Ji-won (So Do Sol Sol La La Sol). Based on a popular web novel called Sacred Idols (roughly translated), production is aiming for an early 2023 release. [YTN]


Jung Il-woo, Kwon Yuri, Song Sang-eun, Eun Moon-seok

  • Stills from the first script reading for ENA’s Good Job have been released featuring cast members Jung Il-woo (Bossam: Steal the Fate), Kwon Yuri (Bossam: Steal the Fate), Eum Moon-seok (Hello? It’s Me!), and Song Sang-eun (Grid) among others. With PD Kang Min-gu and PD Kim Sung-jin co-directing, scripts were co-written by Kim Jung-ae and Kwon Hee-kyung. The investigative romance-hero story premieres mid-August in the Wednesday-Thursday slot, following Extraordinary Attorney Woo. [KBS]
