Jeon Yeo-bin

  • Jeon Yeo-bin (A Time Called You) has been tapped for the period drama Made in Korea, possibly joining Jung Woo-sung (Tell Me That You Love Me) and Hyun Bin (Crash Landing on You) in the gritty 1970s. With filmmaker Woo Min-ho (The Man Standing Next) attached to direct, the series is expected to start filming in the summer of 2024. [JTBC, Newsen]
  • Kim Ji-eun (Branding in Seongsu) has been added to the cast of tvN’s Mom’s Friend’s Son, becoming another member of the childhood friend group with Jung Hae-in (D.P. 2) and Jung So-min (Alchemy of Souls). Directed by PD Yoo Je-won (Crash Course in Romance) with scripts by Shin Ha-eun (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha), the friends-to-lovers rom-com is planning to broadcast later this year. [Osen]

  • A new poster has dropped for KBS’s Nothing Uncovered (previously Grabbed by the Collar), showcasing the larger main cast in the upcoming crime-mystery. Premiering in the Monday-Tuesday slot on March 18, the series stars Kim Haneul (Kill Heel), Yeon Woo-jin (Daily Dose of Sunshine), and Jang Seung-jo (Death’s Game) along with Jung Woong-in (Moon in the Day), Yoon Je-moon (High Cookie), and Han Chae-ah (The Secret Romantic Guesthouse). • Based on Hitoshi Iwaaki’s original manga, Netflix’s Parasyte: The Grey takes us to a disturbing world in the latest poster and first teaser, with leads Jeon So-ni (Our Blooming Youth), Gu Kyo-hwan (D.P. 2), and Lee Jung-hyun (The Family Is Coming). Creeping to our screens on April 5, production for the sci-fi horror has Yeon Sang-ho (Hellbound) both writing and directing, in addition to co-writing by Ryu Yong-jae (Money Heist Korea – Joint Economic Area). • In a rush of teasers ahead of Monday’s premiere, ENA’s The Midnight Studio delivers some comedy with its spooks: found here, here, and also here. Starring Joo-won (Stealer – The Treasure Keeper), Kwon Nara (Bulgasal – Immortal Souls), Yoo In-soo (Death’s Game), and Eum Moon-seok (Good Job), the fantasy romance is setting up shop on March 11. • Incidentally, it looks like SBS’s 7 Escape – Resurrection (previously 7 Reborn – War for Survival) is also in mourning for the dearly departed in the latest promos. But I imagine the context is… a tad different. The makjang’s second season begins this month on March 29 with Eom Ki-joon (Little Women), Hwang Jung-eum (Men Are Men), and Lee Joon (Red Heart) returning, among others in our ensemble cast.
