Seo In-gook

  • It’s been a casting bonanza this week and reports have Seo In-gook (Cafe Minamdang) considering a new sageuk called Handwritten. Based on a popular novel by the same title, the mystery-action story is set during the Joseon era and follows our hero as he tries to recover his lost memory and true identity. [Xports News]
  • After rumors were squashed back in April, Kim Soo-hyun’s (One Ordinary Day) agency confirmed that the actor is now officially on the casting table for Queen of Tears, the newest project by writer Park Ji-eun (Crash Landing on You). If he accepts, this will be Kim’s third time working with Park after You From Another Star and The Producers. PD Kim Won-hee (Little Women, Vincenzo) is attached to direct. [Dispatch]


Kim Soo-hyun

  • With Netflix’s upcoming Gyeongseong Creature set to premiere in the early half of 2023, the production announced that a season 2 is now in the works as well. The period thriller stars Park Seo-joon (Itaewon Class) and Han So-hee (Soundtrack #1), with Kang Eun-kyung (Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2) writing the scripts and directing helmed by PD Jung Dong-yoon (Stove League).   • Speaking of Kang Eun-kyung, the writer has also been busy with season 3 for Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim and we got news that season 2’s cute side-couple Nurse Kim Min-jae (Poong the Joseon Psychiatrist) and ER doctor So Joo-yeon (Seasons of Blossom) will be returning to reprise their roles in the third season. Alongside writer Kang, directing remains in the talented hands of PD Yoo In-shik (Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Romantic Doctor Teacher Kim 2) as well. [News1 (1), (2)]


So Joo-yeon, Kim Min-jae

  • Lee Jia (Penthouse 3) is in talks for a new JTBC drama called Until the End (roughly translated). With production still in discussion, details regarding the drama’s story have not yet been released. In the meantime, Lee Jia has been busy with filming for tvN’s Lady. [Star News]
  • Kwon Yul (Mental Coach Jegal) has been added to the cast of I Have Waited a Long Time for You, joining Kim Ji-eun (One Dollar Lawyer) and Na In-woo (Jinxed at First). The crime-mystery has PD Han Chul-soo (Again My Life) at the helm and is currently in the planning stages. [JTBC]
