Ji Chang-wook, Wie Ha-joon, Im Se-mi

  • Disney+ has lined up a new crime-action drama called The Worst Evil, which stars Ji Chang-wook (If You Wish Upon Me), Im Se-mi (Critical X), and Wie Ha Joon (Little Women) – who must not sleep because he’s going to be in all the things (not that I’m complaining). Slated to air next year in 2023, filmmaker Han Dong-wook (Man in Love) is attached to direct. [News1]
  • tvN’s House on Wheels is back with season 4 and we have a new errand boy maknae on the team: Kim Ro-woon (Tomorrow)! Launching next week on October 13, our eager new beaver is featured alongside his bickering hyungs, Sung Dong-il (If You Wish Upon Me) and Kim Hee-won (Big Issue), in the variety show’s newest teaser.   • Over on tvN, stills of the first script reading were released for Call My Agent, featuring our team of talent managers: Lee Seo-jin (Dr. Park’s Clinic), Kwak Sun-young (Inspector Koo), Seo Hyun-woo (Extracurricular), and Joo Hyun-young (Extraordinary Attorney Woo). Exploring the chaotic world of the acting industry, the office rom-com will be broadcasting this coming November. [Newsis]
  • Ryu Hyun-kyung (Cheer Up) is joining the cast of SBS’s upcoming Trolley in the role of Kim Hyun-joo’s (Hellbound) high school friend, who is connected to Kim’s secret past. Also starring Park Hee-soon (A Model Family), the mystery melodrama will be coming to our screens this December in SBS’s Monday-Tuesday slot. [JTBC]


Song Ha-yoon, Super Junior’s Donghae, Lee Min-jae, Jung Woo-yeon

  • A new drama called Oh! Young-shim has lined up actors Song Ha-yoon (Please Don’t Date Him), Super Junior’s Donghae (God’s Quiz 4), Lee Min-jae (Cheer Up), and Jung Woo-yeon (A Good Supper). Based on the popular comic book and animated series Young-shim from the 1990’s, the story has since been remade into a movie, novel, and musical version as well. Written by Jeon Sun-young with PD Oh Hwan-min and PD Kim Kyung-eun co-directing, the drama adaptation has already finished filming and is planning to air in early 2023. [JTBC]
  • The nominees have been announced for the International Emmy Awards and Lee Seon-kyun (yay!) is up for Best Actor, for his role in AppleTV+’s Dr. Brain. KBS got a nod as well with The King’s Affection being nominated for the Telenovela section, which is happy news for the sageuk’s stars: Park Eun-bin and Kim Ro-woon. Here’s hoping for a K-drama win!   • The pretty poster train continues for MBC’s May I Help You, this time featuring Song Deok-ho (Link: Eat, Love, Kill) and Lee Kyu-han (Sunbae, Don’t Put on that Lipstick) in addition to our main helper duo: Hyeri (Moonshine) and Jun (a.k.a. Lee Yun-young) (Let Me Be Your Knight). The fantasy rom-com premieres in just two weeks on October 19. [News1]
