In 2013, the tvN K-Drama Reply 1994 followed its predecessor, Reply 1997, and became one of the highest-rated Korean dramas in cable television history.
Reply 1994 told the story of six university students from provincial areas of South Korea living together at a boarding house. Starring famous actors like Go Ara, Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon Seok, and more, the show highlighted historically and culturally significant events in Korea in 1994, including the overwhelming popularity of the first-generation K-Pop group Seo Taiji and Boys.
One of the students—a massive fan of Seo Taiji and Boys—was a character named Jo Yoon Jin, played by actress Min Do Hee. Jo Yoon Jin was a quiet yet aggressive student from Yeosu.
Reply 1994 was Min Do Hee’s first production as an actress. She was cast despite her lack of acting experience because of her ability to speak in the Jeolla dialect well. Before she was an actress, Min Do Hee was a K-Pop singer who debuted as a member of Tiny G in 2012 and was active under the name Dohee until the group’s disbandment in 2015.
It has been ten years since the release of Reply 1994, and Min Do Hee has been busy with her acting career since then and some traveling.
After Reply 1994, Min Do Hee continued to act and appeared in a K-Drama almost every year. In 2017, she Shim Ae Suk in Girls’ Generation 1979; the following year, she acted as Oh Hyun Jung in My ID is Gangnam Beauty, alongside ASTRO’s Cha Eunwoo and actress Im Soo Hyang.
She also acted in some movies, such as Daddy You, Daughter Me in 2017, and last year, she played the lead role in a mystery film called Ju Yeon.
Min Do Hee was 19 when Reply 1994 was released; now she’s 29 and is living her best life. She lives with her adorable pomeranian, whom she posts often.
She keeps herself active by doing ballet and hiking.
And recently, Min Do Hee went to Bali and shared many pictures of her “hot girl summer” as she chilled by the swimming pool in what appeared like a healing vacation.
She also showcased her diverse swimsuit collection—from a purple one-piece to a pink bikini, Min Do Hee showed off her fit figure in various swimsuits.
Last year, Min Do Hee signed an exclusive contract with C.Jes Entertainment, which houses actors Oh Dal Soo, Park Sung Woo, Hwang Jung Eum, and singers Gummy, Solji, and Noel. With her new start with a new agency, Min Do Hee will likely continue pursuing her acting career.
