RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are BTS fans know and love, but things could have turned out very differently.
Between 2010 and 2013, BTS went through several lineup changes. Big Hit Entertainment grouped trainees together to see how their skills and chemistry worked before deciding on the final seven.
Even once the lineup was chosen, the obstacles in each member’s way nearly stopped them from debuting together. For example, RM (the founding member of BTS) once ran away, but his father convinced him to go back to Big Hit Entertainment.
Recently, RM was asked if there has ever been a time when he knew without a doubt that BTS has to be seven.
“Well, I feel this way all the time in my daily life,” he answered. “Like when we take pictures and we don’t have everyone there, it feels empty… I feel like a part is missing. It doesn’t feel right unless it’s all 7 of us standing in our formation, you know? I think I have the 7 syndrome, pretty much.”
BTS’s seven members need each other, but they also wouldn’t be BTS without their 8th member, ARMY. BTS’s loyal fans have supported them from debut until now, helping their dreams to come true.
We were only seven, but we have you all now
