Yumi’s Cells returns for season 2 with love in the air for Kim Go-eun and Jinyoung

A new video teaser has been released for the second season of Yumi’s Cells, which will be launching on TVING in just over one week.
Picking up where the last season left off, our heroine Kim Go-eun (The King: Eternal Monarch) is back in the central role of Yumi and is only starting to feel ready for romance. Despite her reservations, though, Cupid’s arrows are now firmly pointing at co-worker Bobby – played by Got7’s Jinyoung (The Devil Judge) – who also returns in this new season.

The newly released teaser begins with Jinyoung asking, “Can you wait a bit for me?” and the cells go into group rallying mode. He remarks afterwards, “It feels nice, you waiting for me,” and in the next sequence we see him constantly pop up next to Kim Go-eun at work. Kim can’t stop thinking about him, remembering that he said, “If I meet someone, I’m going to enjoy spending time with just the two of us,” and her guard cells are done for when Jinyoung calls her pretty.
Although pleased by the attention, Kim Go-eun tells herself that she can’t give her heart to Jinyoung and tries to avoid him at work – not even getting on the elevator with him. One inner cell humble brags that she’s undeserving of his love and Kim tries to hold back a smile as she grumbles, “These situations are so hard for me.”
We then jump to a work dinner, where Lee Yubi (You Who Forgot Poetry) wonders why Jinyoung doesn’t go on blind dates. She and Mi Ram (Money Game) lean in for his response, but he simply says that he’s not sure. As Kim Go-eun gulps down her beer, one of her cells curses that Lee’s never been a help.
Upon returning to the office, Lee Yubi happily reports that Jinyoung finally agreed to be introduced to her friend and it’s a sobfest for the cells. But Jinyoung makes another request to Kim Go-eun saying, “If it’s not uncomfortable for you, please wait for me.” The teaser then comes to a close with Kim running back as her cell cheers her on.
On the production side, we’re in the reliable hands of the first season’s writers, Song Jae-jung and Kim Kyung-ran. PD Lee Sang-yub also returns as the director, sharing the work this time with PD Joo Sang-kyu. Season 2 of Yumi’s Cells premieres next week on June 10.
